I am so pleased to share a number of pieces of good news with the CCM community. First, we are excited to announce that Rabbi Joshua Boettiger will be joining us as Associate Rosh Yeshiva in July.

Rabbi Boettiger has been the Rabbi at Temple Emek Shalom in Ashland, OR since 2012, and will be transitioning this summer to become the Chaplain at Bard College in New York. He is a graduate of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Philadelphia (where he studied Mussar with Rabbi Stone), and is a Rabbis Without Borders Fellow. He also has an MFA in Poetry from Pacific University (2018) and has extensive experience in Jewish meditation. Rabbi Boettiger has created a dynamic Mussar community at Temple Emek Shalom and we look forward to his unique skills guiding us as we grow our CCM community.

CCM Vice Chair Adie Goldberg has recently completed a listening tour with CCM stakeholders – board members, madrichim, graduates and staff – to provide input to CCM as we look toward our second 5 year plan. If you have any ideas to share about your vision for CCM as we emerge from our birth years into a thriving organization, please reach out to me ([email protected]) or Adie ([email protected]).

We are delighted to announce that we are expanding our social media presence. Thanks to our new Administrative Assistant, Josh Scrabeck, we now have a CCM YouTube Channel, which contains archived videos of our Elul and Pesach series, and more to come. Our new social media intern, Alicia Swain is working to boost our presence on Facebook (center for contemporary mussar), Instagram (contemporarymussar), and Twitter (@ContempMussar) too! Please follow and share CCM on those platforms as well.

Finally, please save the date for our tribute to Mindy Shapiro on May 23, 2021 at 7:00 – 8:00 PM ET on Zoom, when we will celebrate Mindy’s contributions to CCM and her passion for Mussar Middot and Mesillat Yesharim.
